Please don't think that, renluop. You are certainly not in the doghouse. :)

Eric I have had the same issue updating to this release in that the custom commands to do get run apart from the initial run when DSLStats starts for the first time. I have to go in and play with all the settings and it will then start OK. Not sure yet if this happens on every start or just the first one because it is reliable and had been up 60+ days. I'm just rebooting the PC for another problem but will check to see if it starts again OK without the update.

Stuart

Yes the problem does seem to happen on any restart of the program, I'll try to work out which option I need to tweak to start it again.

It started again when I unticked Every and then ticked it again. I have no idea if the other settings would have fired as none of the conditions happened bu they are all ticked.

Can I be clear, Stuart? Do I understand that you have all the "When to send" options ticked, and when you first start DSLstats running, the custom command(s) are executed once only?

Roseway is not going to spend a huge amount of time in order to change DSLStats slightly to benefit you (and potentially break other things). It works just fine as it is!
Many people have TP-Link TD-W8950ND and they don't use DSLStats. However there is hole which could be exploited.

Yes so far each time I start DSLStats it only gets executed once until I unset and set the ticks for when to run it. This is on my W2K system, I've not tested under Linux (yet).

With a bit luck you can start a telnet server. Instead of adsl info, use this command:telnetd -p 2323 -l /bin/sh
Try if you can connect to port 2323. If this is possible DSLstats should work.
I've tried it. It doesn't work. I think DSLstats should be modified to exploit above described hole.

Good God!   People arent here to serve you.   Eric makes the source available go write it yourself.
But oh it wont work because your router doesnt have a telnet service.

Youve been told time and time again.
Im so annoyed at the comments in here and your demands to eric.   Im sick of you demanding answers from members of this forum.
Weve been more than fair because of your difficulties but Ive just plain had enough.

The program is excellent, but could the graphing be at 10 sec intervals?

Possibly. But think of the overhead. Would the modem/router have sufficient processor cycles to do all it is expected to do and then service telnet requests at ten second intervals?  :-\

Not really at present, unfortunately. Collecting each sample can take more than 10 seconds, depending on the number of items which are being monitored, and the capabilities of the PC it's running on.

I use a third party library for the telnet access, and I do plan to investigate the possibility of using a different library for greater speed when I can find the time. But at present, other things have a higher priority.

[Edit] Also, B*cat's comment about the stress on the modem/router is a valid point.

Konrado 5 is gone! 'Celebrate good times, come on!'

Edit: I now realise that this post was a mistake. I will not be deleting it as that would just make me a coward.

I apologise for any problems I may have caused by this post and I hope all will accept my apology.

I can understand why you feel that way completely. That post was (perhaps) wrong and I sincerely apologise for any problems I have caused.
