i have thousands of photos on an external hard drive which i copied off my old computer  out of the adobe photoshop free adition...os was windows xp

i am finding it difficult to find a similarfree  programme compatible with windows 7

any advise or suggestions please ?

The most comprehensive free photo editing program is Gimp. There's a bit of a learning curve with it, but when you get used to it there's not much it can't do.

IrfanView and Paint.Net are both very good.
