Thanks eric.

It seems to be working well  (aside from not logging traffic now but I guess I will need to tweak some settings).

I do however seem to still have a problem with the bitswaps per tone graph display. Its still not showing anything after circa 1040.
If I try to scroll to the right it doesnt seem to draw the details correctly and still tries to display information from the lower tones.   Ill attach some graphs so you can perhaps see what I mean on how everything seems to slide over to the right.

I see, yes. I'll give that some more attention.

So far, I have nothing to report.

The utility was run for a number of hours last night / early this morning and has been invoked again this afternoon.

Here's a cool feature I wouldn't mind being added, I'm sure the majority will have this problem as well. Instead of creating the dslstats.cfg upon first load (if it doesn't exist), get it to create dslstats.cfg straight into the C:/ so every time a new version comes out you don't need to copy and paste or re-do all the settings from scratch.

Edit: You could do the same with the XML files or any other relevant files that you use that I can't think of at this moment of time.

Yes, I agree.
I think "professional programs" use something like the c:\documents&settings\username\applicationdata\progdirname to save the program operating files in precisely for this reason.
Knowing MS and to make it more complex this area of the directory tree structure probably has different pathnames in Win2000, Xp,Vista,Win7 and win8..........

Thanks for that suggestion. It's effectively what the Linux versions do (each user has a home directory where user configuration files are kept), but I'm not so familiar with Windows and I wasn't sure what directory to use. However I've now found a standard FreePascal call which does the job:

Quote
GetAppConfigDir returns the name of a directory in which the application should store its configuration files on the current OS.

So I'll incorporate this in the next release.

All program application data should be stored in %APPDATA% which is dataroaming for Windows.

I.E C:\Users\Ryan\AppData\Roaming

Thank you btw :)

I think the FreePascal function I mentioned above probably returns the value of that environment variable (where it exists). As c6em says, this quite probably varies between Windows versions.

I think I've fixed this, although I can't check the issue of the data ending around tone 1040. Could I ask you to test it please. This is just the Windows executable, so after extracting it, copy it over the installed version and leave the other files in place. On its first run it also migrates the configuration files to a more correct location. The first entry in the event log should report the success of this migration.

hello, long time no see... :)

I Have acquired a Netgear DGND3700v2 - can confirm the app works (in debug mode - actually didnt try it without) :)

only thing ive noticed is ... plenty of upstream bit-swapping, then i went out and PC slept, when i wake and press play to continue there is no upload bit-swapping activity at all... I know it may have stopped but im suspicious hehe - hope it has stopped as I used to have issues with upload bit-swapping being quite active sometimes - I only noticed it through the feature on this app...

nice to be using it again... but also bad to be scouring looking for problems hehe

Nice to see you back, Snadge :)

If you're referring to the bitswaps per minute, this data is taken directly from a line in the main connection stats (Telnet data --> Connection stats) which looks like this:   Bitswap:   40302      172

If the figures change over time, then this should be reflected in the graph.
