Yeah at one stage the 300A cost more than a P2-400 due to shortages in the channel.

Heh it sounds like an antique now - 300MHz

Thing is that software bloat (ta MS) means that the latest and greatest are no faster to the average user - gamers and "power users" excluded of course.

Hmm after a short water washing process the keyboard seemed to work ever less. Hence it has been disposed of in the wheelie bin.

And that was the first time in my 8 years of personal computing that i have had a proper spill on a keyboard.

I'd get it back out of the bin and put in back in the airing cupboard for a week or so.

Hmm, perhaps I was a little hasty. Unfortunately the bins were emptied this weekend following Christmas  :-[

Thanks for all the helpful advice, I will keep it in mind for any future accidents that I or anyone else might have.

hmmm... dont get me started on that - Its already over a week since our "grey bins" were collected (22nd)... and next collection isnt until Mon 7th of Jan.
My grey wheelie is already full and theres still another week to go.

The time of year when most households get the most rubbish... and Wyre Borough Council think its wise to leave it over 2 weeks in between collections.

I can't honestly have a go at our council (Blaby).

They are one of the very few in England & Wales that want NOTHING to do with shifting collections from one to two weeks to "boost recycling". We are already at nearly 50% recycling (not that recycling means anything now - we are WAY past that for climate change) with a weekly collection of refuse, and a fortnightly collection of recylclables AND compostable materials.

I don't generally use the compost service except in winter when your own compost bin is very unlikely to be active.

We are on alternate weeks for rubbish or compost wheely bins and weekly for recyclables - works fine for us as there's only two but I can imagine it hits nightmare proportions at this time of year for families  :(
