Billion 8800NL - something went wrong
« on: October 14, 2015, 07:42:35 PM »

Got up this morning and woke the PC from sleep
No internet access and DSLStats couldn't see it (this may have been because the IP address allocated by the router changed and Windows was looking for the old one)
As a quick fix rebooted the router and then the Pc
All sorted although a bit of a drop in fibre sync speed
This is what concerns me - what could have caused the router to completely stop working

Unfortunately I didn't check the lights to see which were green but I believe that they all were on the grounds that a red one would have been obvious

Checking the G.INP has dropped from 48 to 46 so perhaps the cab changed something which stopped the router automatically reconnecting

The INP: value on the downstream does seem to be variable on each modem reboot it could go up or down the DLM must be analyzing the line condition every 15 minutes.

When my line had a G.INP interleave depth of 8.00 the INP: value was 45 to 49 now with an interleave depth of 4.00 the INP: value only seems to vary from 50 - 51.

It wasn't but that may have been due to the IP address changing while Windows was in sleep mode

My guess is the billion itself locked up then, or hit some unrecoverable resource limit, that has happened to other people on here sadly including myself, it happened once after several months of uptime.
