Which Hardware to use as a bridge??
« on: August 06, 2013, 09:21:50 PM »

Evening one and all,

I am currently on BT adsl2, resisting infinity as I use BBtalk which is included in my BB package.

I would like to know which second hand hardware to get which would allow me to bridge adsl to Ethernet. I will then be using pfSense to handle F/W and nating.

I have tried doing this with a HH2a but couldn't stop the HH nat'ing which was causing problems (may have been the way I configured it thought ;))

Many thanks

How about a DrayTek Vigor 120?

They turn up on eBay every so often and, assuming that I understand you correctly, should be ideal for your requirements.

hehe,

thanks for the reply, already looked at those and are probably my first choice but was hoping to get something very cheap which I could tinker with  ;)

I am wondering if it may be better though to just by the vigor and be done with it especially after the problems I had trying to get the HH to work properly

If I was in your position, I would look on eBay for a Vigor 120;)

But, ultimately, the decision is yours to make.  :)
