DSLstats v3.4 released
« on: June 16, 2013, 10:48:32 PM »

Several small fixes and improvements.

Changes since v3.31:
- added "Send now" button to custom commands setup
- when saving average error rates as a text file, the filename includes a number which is  incremented after each save
- average error rates are now saved in daily folders if that option is selected
- added option for user to set max and min Y values on SNRM graph
- fixed bug which could result in negative values being plotted on CRC/FEC graphs when using log scaling and with sample periods greater than 1 minute
- when saving the configuration, a warning message is shown if the file cannot be saved
- corrected possible rare error in calculation of average error rates
- corrected inappropriate rescaling of bitloading graph when SNR is included
- added a database of "Special login" routers (only two models so far)

Did you change the text size in Telnet data?

Added image for you :)

P.S Nice to see an update =]

Edit: It's only in Connection Stats

I didn't change it deliberately, and I don't see that on my Linux systems, so it looks as though I've inadvertently made a change which only affects some systems (possibly the Windows version only). I'll check it out later today and hopefully upload a corrected version.

(As it happens, I've also received a report from another user via my website, about the same issue.)

Just to confirm my Linux version does not exhibit this text problem.

A banal query; can I just download and overwrite 3.31 with the update with no ill effects?

Just to confirm my Win XP32 bit exhibits the small text issue on the ADSL telnet connection stats page as well.

Very minor format isssue - SNR margin page, the text "Clipping level" has the "C" mostly missing - so it is quite literally clipped!
I guess the field width is too small when you moved this text box around to make room for the max/min y axis boxes so the LHS has been clipped off

I confirm that the Tones/SNR/birloading graph re-scaling/flip flopping issue is solved - many thanks!

Well that's what I do each time, however I dont delete the previous archive just in case although so far I've never needed to use an old version.

Yes you can. Eventually I plan to provide a simple installer which will do just that, but in the meantime you have to do it manually.

I've found the source of the small text issue, and I'll upload a corrected version later this afternoon.

Thanks for that confirmation.

Concerning the clipping of "Clipping", that's slightly odd because I would normally expect the RHS to be clipped, not the LHS. But any way, I'll try to do a bit more jiggling to fix it.

Screen shot of the "clipped C" graph enclosed
As I said this is Win XP 32 bit - may be different on other OS's

Thanks. I've found the reason - it's the item to the left ("Show downstream") which is slightly too long and overlapping the "Clipping level" label. Now fixed.

At a guess this a browser caching issue. If you clear the cache and try again you should get the right page.

Got to right page :) but now find that warning "no data received in latest sample" is appearing. Recent event log reads
Code: [Select]
17 Jun 2013 12:43:14 Recording started
17 Jun 2013 12:43:17 Recording started
17 Jun 2013 12:43:17 Previous sample still being processed
Connected
17 Jun 2013 12:43:17 No stats received
17 Jun 2013 12:43:50 No stats received

I feel even more clueless than ever! What even more might I be mucking up in setting the app with Technicolor 582N?
