RJ11-RJ11 cables
« on: June 02, 2013, 03:51:51 AM »

Where can I get _ultra_ high quality twisted-pair RJ11-RJ11 cables from?

Suitable for connecting an ADSL-specific faceplate-style microfilter's RJ11 port to an ADSL modem.

Short(ish). Even better, ones that are also shielded.

This is to protect ultra low signal voltages from a very long, high attenuation line from mains cables that are touching, or trying to touch, the DSL signal cables.

CAT5e or CW1308 (which is the one BT use to carry the signal up to your master socket) cable is absolutely perfect; shielding is totally unnecessary for a number of reasons. An RJ45 at the faceplate end would also be a more secure fit than an RJ11 although they both work. Or if the OCD is really strong in you, as it is with me, you might want to hardwire the cable into the SSFP's AB terminals for the best possible joints (assuming you are using one of the new Pressac/BT VDSL service specific faceplates).
