my host (hostXnow) has started to have a few issues with MySQL and my forum keeps going down, I can access the files etc via Cpanel and FileZilla - but I would like to start automating the backup/download of my forum every 6 hours just in case the hosts have something go seriously wrong and I lose everything.

is it possible to setup FileZilla or other app too wake the PC every 6 hours and download all my files and sleep the PC? also it would be great if backup management could be automated...that is too say only keep 10 backups 'back over from latest one without me having to do it.

thanks

Depending on your host you may be able to set up something in c-panel...  but afaik most sql backups are done as a cron job.
