If you are referring to a TalkTalk VDSL service with a new Openreach modem, then that speed is one of the poorer ones I have ever met.
I assume you mean you are connecting an ethernet cable from the router direct into your laptop in order to do a speed test ?

Can you tell us some more information.
What is the approximate distance to the PCP green cabinet ?
Is the line noisy after you have dialled e.g. just one figure ?
What is the installation configuration starting from the master socket.

Just for clarity can you please confirm if that is Mbit/s or MBytes/sec

1.88 MB/sec = 15 Mbps = 1925 kbps


Can you also please put your details into checker here which should provide an estimate of anticipated speed and also which cabinet you are connected to.

Also thats the exact reading I get for Upload speed on TalkTalk Fibre? Is it upload speed you are referring to not download?

As others have said, MB per second would be acceptable depending on your distance, Mb, i.e megabits per second is a severe fault somewhere.
