rs-ux and rs-w v2.41
« on: February 27, 2013, 06:42:00 PM »

This is just a quick upgrade to deal with the bug in the Windows version which caused an error when logarithmic scaling was enabled on the FEC graph. There are no other changes.

The bug existed in all versions, but apparently the Linux versions deal with it without crashing. It would probably be sensible for Linux users to upgrade to this fixed version as well.

It's working. Thanks.

I found another small bug. If the program is started with the configuration "FEC errors: enabled" and "CRC errors: disabled" it shows the CRC errors graph inside the FEC errors tab.

Yes, there is something wrong with the way those two tabs behave. I'll check it out.

One other 'phoo-bah' for your list, Eric.

When 'Configuration' / 'Misc' / 'Save event log on exit' is selected and the executing utility is stopped and exited, the ASCII text event log is saved as a 'PNG' file.  ???

Ah, so it is indeed. It is actually a text file, but it has the wrong extension. Sorry. :)

No worries. An easy fix for the next release, I'm sure.  :)

In the future would it be possible to add an 'auto-update' facility to notify users of new versions and give them the option to download them?

Yes, I've been thinking about that, and I'll be looking at building it in as an option shortly.

Apart from that, the latest version of rs-w is running fine here on Ubuntu 12.10 (trying Linux to see if I can use it on a daily basis with OS X).

Are there plans for a 64-bit Windows version?

Edit: On the Windows version, 'Stats per band' can still be enabled even when on a non-VDSL modem.
