Hi samuel

Welcome to the forum.

Clearly something wrong there. Can you post your router/modem stats, the attenuation and SNR figures particularly. Follow the link below if you are not sure how to do this.

Looking at the figures it's clear that you had a low-speed re-connection at the weekend, and this caused your IP profile to plummet. If you stay connected at the present speed (7040 kbps as shown) your IP profile should soon rise again to 6000 kbps, with actual download speeds up to around that figure.

Several things can cause an event like this, and it could just be a one-off glitch. When we see your connection stats we may be able to reach more conclusions.

Your stats indicate a good connection which should comfortably support your present connection speed. Unless anything else goes wrong you should be back up to your previous speeds within a day or so.

However, the rather high downstream noise margin suggests that your connection has been unstable before, and the DLM process has increased the target noise margin to improve the stability. It might be worth having a read of http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/lowSNR.htm for some tips on diagnosing and solving interference problems.

Because of the huge increase between the sync speeds, touch wood - I'd expect your profile to be back to normal by tomorrow.. if not sometime today.

By which time hopefully your profile (if the system works as it should)  will have recovered anyway  ???

omg - that so does not need an engineer visit

BT retail are probably one of the main causes of the increased abortive visit charge  >:(
