How Can I Test 'Silverlight'
« on: February 18, 2013, 10:58:21 AM »

My Daughter has asked me to get 'Netflix' working on her Linux laptop, It needs MS Silverlight  >:(.
Linux 'Moonlight' has been discontinued  >:D.
On a Test machine I have installed 'Wine' then set it up for XP then downloaded the MS version of 'Firefox' installed it to run under wine, installed MS 'Silverlight' and it comes up as a 'Plugin' on the FF browser.

My problem is that Netflix is a subscription service so I need some program to test in Firefox to see if it works.

What needs 'Silverlight'  to run ?.

I've always avoided having anything to do with silverlight, but I have a feeling that one (or more) of the TV broadcasting companies use it for their programme repeat service.

I normally stay away from silverlight as well .

@HPsauce.
Bubblemark just gives error 1001, Googled that and there are hundreds of people trying to fix it.

On some other sites I just get a blank page.

Bubblemark just gives error 1001,

It works fine here, but I have silverlight installed...  so I guess that means there is something wrong with your silverlight installation :(

I don't have silverlight installed of course, and for me the site doesn't give an error, it simply invites me to install silverlight.
