After been hit with the dreaded DLM again I took matters into my own hands ;), here is some before and after stats. lets hope DLM see the improvement and removes cap!

We would be interested to know what action you took, for the 'blip' (to use Bald_Eagle1's terminology), in your 'before' Hlog graph, has almost been eradicated . . . Perhaps the same remedial action would be beneficial for Cricker's line, which shows a very similar 'blip' in his Hlog graph.

Hi all

@Bald _ eagle 1
Cap got put on about seven days ago no real issues at the time.
@waltergmw
Hoping dlm can see improvement on connection and sort it out itself,  I don't fancy more long conversation with our friends in India. Considering the latest BT ad states it does cap speeds I think it is obvious they do i.e 38 attainable 15 line rate.

I have attached latest harvested stats alot less errors

@burakkucat
When I rewired my place about 9 years ago, I chased all conduits in the wall and the ones containing power and the ones containing voice and data run in parallel down the wall. After reading the post on here about REIN I decided  to see if it would make a difference not use use the bit a cable in the conduit. This has removed about 10 meters of cable and meant fitting a socket in the loft space.

Not sure if it is the 10 meters of cable or the fact that there is no induction in to the cable before the filter that has improved the connection.

When I get hold of some screened phone cable I will try running it back down the conduit and compare results. Would 10 meters of cable equate to 10meg attainable increase?

I would be very surprised if that was the case assuming CW1308 specification cable had been used. Reading between the lines, I understand that you have an aerial drop-cable that enters your roof space. Within a few feet of its entry, it would have been connected to CW1308 cable that ran through the conduit (I assume plastic and not metallic -- which could have been earthed for screening) to the NTE5/A. I therefore assume that you have moved the NTE5/A up into the roof space and the aerial drop-cable is directly connected thereto.  ;)

As for 'screened phone cable' I am unaware of any such entity. The closest of which I can think is Cat6 screened cable . . .  :-\

@ buarakkucat

http://www.batt.co.uk/products/view/222/CW1308-Cable-Internal-Screened

As for your description of work carried out, SPOT ON

Knowing what I have done what do you think has given me the extra bandwidth? Shorter cable or the possible interference of running close to 230 v power cables?

Kind regards

Thank you for showing me the link to a source of screened CW1308 cable.  :)

As for the difference in speed that you have noticed, I suspect it is due to the adjacent parallel run of the mains supply rather than a 10 metre difference in length.

The only other variable that you have removed is the junction between the aerial drop cable and the internal CW1308 cable. Perhaps that was not as good as it could have been?  :-\

Hi

 Just an update latest stats graphed show a resync about 04:00 and got some of my speed back at the cost of more interleaving  ;D. DLM seems to of recognized the the improvements and is doing its job, hopefully it will keep given rather then taking

An increase in DS sync speed from 15 Mbps to ~22.5 Mbps is certainly something worth having.

(Especially as that increase is more than my current DS sync speed!  :-X  )

The now delightful DLM seems to be doing its job another 24 hours another resync and interleaving dropped and delay reduced from 16 ms to 8 ms. Keep it coming.  ;D

Obviously vdsl very sensitive to induced 50hz voltages.

It looks like you may have DS speeds capped at too low a level now, possibly needing a DLM reset via an engineer.

What do the snapshot graphs now look like?
