The next version (in a few days) will have the option to use a different port.

Maybe you can add a new stats command prefix. Some devices use "xdslctl info".

Thank you, I wasn't aware of that style of the command. I'll add it straight away.

What router(s) use that style?

I use a broadcom 6368 based device from motorola. I don't know which other devices use xdslctl too, but google finds quite a few results for it.
