It doesnt matter if you are young or old,  and you are always more than very welcome to ask and we will do ur best to help.  We were all beginners at one point..  I have great admiration for anyone of the older generation trying to get a grips with todays technology :)

The only problem is, or at least in my case is the older one gets, then the more we forget, especially when not using that particular knowledge on a regular basis. :(

I find the ability to 'forget' things quite useful . . .

However I am still consulted for accurate statements on information regarding the previous two generations of my family's history! :)

Forgetting a lot just lately, 'Oldun' is a guy from another forum, I should have refered to 'Old Fogy' :-[ Anyway he was right, if we don't use things often we tend to forget, well I do.

Good morning,

Sorry to come back to this subject after a long break but, if I uninstall both office 2003 and office 2007 can I then re install just one safely?

Yes you can just install one of the programs.

Although to be honest  can't understand why you have 2 copies of MS Office installed as the difference between those 2 is very slight.
(Or should I go back and read the start of the thread to find the answer)

Edit:
Ok, re-read your first post, so are you saying that you never solved the original problem?

Just to be clear, can you give us a screen shot of a word page with text on it to show us the actual problem.
Or yes, just try re-installing 2007 and see if it resolves the problem.

The original problem was solved Oldun, thanks to this forum, but I've since encountered some irritating snags, and I like things to run smoothly.

I originally had 2003 installed then a friend gave MS Office 2007, as far as I can tell it is a puka disc, so I installed that  and just couldn't get to grips with 2007, not as straightforward as 2003 I thought, so I un installed it, that caused more porblems so I re installed 2007 and order was partially restored.

Hope that explains better, the guy who used to sort my pc problems out seems to have disappeared, a pity because all those who I reccommended to him were very happy with his service.

Yes sometimes that's a problem with two programs installed but different versions, some of the install will use shared parts, so when you uninstall one version it may also uninstall parts needed by the other version.

Once you uninstall both programs don't forget to run a couple of good cleaners to try and get rid of all the leftover files and entries, CCleaner is one good starting point.
