SpeedTouch: Close All Ports from Internet?
« on: October 21, 2012, 06:36:50 PM »

Is it possible to close all the ports on a SpeedTouch to stop access from 'parties' on the internet from potentially accessing things on my connection? I would still like to allow all LAN access to the internet.

Thank you, I hope that you understand.

Doesn't it have a default firewall configuration which rejects all unsolicited incoming connections?

I think it may. Will that stop anything coming through? I am a bit paranoid :).

What a firewall does is close ports. Most routers close all incoming ports in the default configuration. You can check with Shields Up.
