HG612 incorrect error stats - what they really are...
« on: October 09, 2012, 10:55:34 PM »

most of us know that the HG612 error stats in the GUI are incorrect, I dont know if anybody's noticed but both Bald_Eagle and then me spotted that this is what those 'incorrect' stats actually are in the HG612's GUI:-

GUI -> Actual Stat
CRC = RSUnCorr
FEC = CRC / SFErr
HEC = HEC

at least thats what it is on my ADSL2+ connection, I dont know if VDSL2 connections make any difference.

I thought I would post this just too make everyone aware...1000 apologies if there has already been a thread about this...

Interesting.

On VDSL2, by comparing when ES occurs I've noted that FEC errors (GUI) must be CRC errors. Can't say much else on the topic though, RSUncorr for VDSL2 (at least mine) doesn't correspond with when one or more ES (error seconds) occurs.

I've had a quick look in my e-mail archive and have found the following from Bald_Eagle1 --

Code: [Select]
It may be easier to follow in this table format, using data from my own connection:-

   Data By GUI By Telnet
    Reported as...

  19286 CRC RSUnCorr
    463 FEC OHFErr, CRC
   4878 HEC HEC
1821178 N/A RSCorr, FEC

Raw Telnet stats:-

Downstream Upstream

OHF: 29457561 102133
OHFErr: 463 39
RS: 1360932918 1143754
RSCorr: 1821178 57
RSUnCorr: 19286 0

            Path 0

HEC: 4878 0

Total time = 1 days 4 hours 27 min 11 sec

FEC: 1821178 57
CRC: 463 39

@ Ixel - so you get the same (with whats available)

@ B'Kat - yeah BE is on VDSL so it would seem its the irrespective of the connection type, could one amend that using asbokids firmware modding software (I did see one on his website didnt I?) - should be easy enough to swap text around

I believe the tool you're referring to is this one (webflate): http://huaweihg612hacking.wordpress.com/2011/09/25/a-new-tool-webflate-for-building-a-new-web-interface/
