I'm sorry but I have absolutely no experience of that modem/router and so I am unable to assist you with its configurable settings.

Perhaps someone else may have an idea?  :-\
Thanks .  :)

These commands are working, but how can I delete
Quote
CI command "wan dmt2 db tlb 10" in autoexec.net;
in step 2 ?

I only made temporary changes, but I believe the command is
Code: [Select]
sys edit autoexec.netThere are a few articles online on how to use this command

To view its contents use
Code: [Select]
sys view autoexec.net

I found one http://aa.net.uk/kb-broadband-zyxelp660hwt1v2.html, Instead of "I", should press  "d" ?

Oh dear, it seems as if no one has any idea.  ???  I'm posting so that you don't think you are being ignored.  :o

I wonder if the fact that you are unable to modify the DS target SNRM is due to your ISP/CP locking it at that value, as a means to impose a speed cap on your line? Could it be that they will offer a faster speed in exchange for more money?  :-\

As I know nothing about the services available in your country, the above is just guesswork . . .  :shrug2:

Thanks for the reply.

yes the we have fixed speed packages. starting from 1Mpbs (all 1Mbps packages where doubled recently ), 2Mpbs, 4 Mbps, 6Mpbs 8Mbps and 10 Mbps via ADSL. http://ptcl.com.pk/related_pages.php?pd_id=111&rp_id=28

While 10Mpbs, 20Mpbs and 50 Mbps are offered on VDSL line. http://ptcl.com.pk/related_pages.php?pd_id=111&rp_id=166

Thanks for posting those links. I've had a quick look at them both.  :)

I am fairly convinced that your service provider is holding the target SNRM and so maintaining a sync speed (thus throughput speed) cap on your line. It doesn't look if there is anything else that you can try.  :(

So if you really need more throughput, you will need to migrate to the next higher package and pay the extra price.

Another question what is the ideal value for Ping to Default Gateway (ISP)  ?

Truthfully? As small as possible.  :D

Let me show you the value returned when I ping the CP's Default Gateway for my connection --

Code: [Select]
[bcat@Duo2 ~]$ ping -c 10 w.x.y.z
PING w.x.y.z (w.x.y.z) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from w.x.y.z: icmp_seq=1 ttl=254 time=17.7 ms
64 bytes from w.x.y.z: icmp_seq=2 ttl=254 time=19.6 ms
64 bytes from w.x.y.z: icmp_seq=3 ttl=254 time=17.9 ms
64 bytes from w.x.y.z: icmp_seq=4 ttl=254 time=19.3 ms
64 bytes from w.x.y.z: icmp_seq=5 ttl=254 time=17.4 ms
64 bytes from w.x.y.z: icmp_seq=6 ttl=254 time=19.0 ms
64 bytes from w.x.y.z: icmp_seq=7 ttl=254 time=17.9 ms
64 bytes from w.x.y.z: icmp_seq=8 ttl=254 time=17.1 ms
64 bytes from w.x.y.z: icmp_seq=9 ttl=254 time=18.4 ms
64 bytes from w.x.y.z: icmp_seq=10 ttl=254 time=18.1 ms

--- w.x.y.z ping statistics ---
10 packets transmitted, 10 received, 0% packet loss, time 9631ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 17.102/18.293/19.699/0.805 ms

Rounding up to the nearest millisecond, it averages out at 18 ms.

Yesterday I was getting <=1ms.  :P

At that time attention was also down to 2.8db.  ;)

Usually it it's ~18ms.

That reads as if you now have a very good connection.  :)

So I'll type what I normally remind our Bald_Eagle1 -- "No fiddling!".

My connection is quite stable but Bt 2700 HGV is ava. for just ~ 12 pounds.  ;)

I have a 2Wire 2700HG-B (last digit refers to the ISP) but it doesnt work well on my short line, syncing at about 3-4Mbps less than a broadcom based router.  Nor will it do Annex_M so for me personally its a bit useless :(

It does seem to work well for those on long lines though so I'll let others comment further.
