What do the seven words below have in common .... ?? It's nothing to do with the 'Double letters'.  :)


1. Banana
2. Dresser
3. Grammar
4. Potato
5. Revive
6. Uneven
7. Assess

Nearly there !!

If you take the 1st letter and move it to the end, the word spells the same in reverse.

How can removing the first letter, be exactly the same as moving it to the back ??

Maths may not be my strong point, but the words would have one less letter following your method.

You are confusing the process with the end result and forgetting what the initial question was.

In that context they are most definitely equivalent, and Maths IS my strong point.  8)

Wrong again sir. The spelling of the word is just that, how it is spelt !!!

Grammar is how words or sentences are constructed. My answer (which is the correct one by the way) deconstructs and reconstructs the word.

Now then lets check your maths ............... 1+1 = ? :graduate:

Hmmm ..... just re-read your first comment on this thread, and I can see how I've misinterpreted what you meant. My bad.

If it had been written 'Barring the first letter .... blah blah' I think my brain would have picked up on it. I'm a damned fool. ;D
