Pigeon Repellent?!
« on: November 23, 2007, 06:01:57 PM »

Apparently it does exist...

I may need to invest in some of this, since I am scared to death of pigeons, and they seem to want to murder me or something.

Scared of pigeons? They're just about the most docile birds on earth. They're also rather dim-witted, and do sometimes accidentally fly into people, but they're not going to hurt you. I hope you never encounter an angry golden eagle - now they can do some damage. An adult golden eagle can kill a fully grown fox outright.

Gulls are quite nasty hooligans, despite being rather pretty. Basically they will eat anything smaller than themselves, and will attack any perceived threat, however large it is. The way to a gull's heart is to give it a jam sandwich, but keep your fingers away from its beak. :)

Some of the gulls can be quite pretty... but round here we have those big (herring ? ) gulls.
They will attack anything - the cats are scared of them and Ive seen them dive bomb humans many times.
They're also IMHO vermin and will rip open bin bags and eat just about anything.  :/

Gulls? Gulls aren't remotely scary. Try Arctic Skuas for bloody terrifying :D I have been divebombed (and pecked on the way) more times than I can remember. First time I saw them I figured this must have been the inspiration for Hitchcock when he made The Birds :D

When I first watched The Birds, all birds seemed dangerous to me for a while.

That film might look dated now, but the suspense with all the birds lined up on roofs etc is still there.

It's time to fight back against the roseways of the world.

Somebody invent penguin repellant, quick, or the two of them will be doing things at the bottom of his posts that we would not want our grandchildren to see.!!  :D
