I wonder if BlackSheep or another expert could comment on the later TDR traces.  As I have noted  they are very very similar to ones my neighbours lines.  Would you guess changes in cable types which affect all the properties about the same?

   Hopeful thanks in advance.

I'd say undoubtedly so.

As long as those features appear beyond the distance to the DP from the point that the measurements were taken (in other words, not within the length of the respective drop-cables), then your own and your neighbours pairs are now within the same multi-pair cable.

Are les-70 TDR traces a proof that different gauge cables causes undulations on Hlog ?

Interesting, just one question which I assume is a yes, doesn't one need to do a 'fast test' in order to access the TDR? Or is that for some other stuff on a JDSU or related device?

I have no knowledge of what the "Fast Test" option (of the BT Line Test Factility, 17070) entails but all TDR traces in this thread were obtained by the use of a Tester 301C (the device which was superseded by the BT Hawk which, in turn, was superseded by the JDSU and Exfo HHTs).

Apologies ..... missed this earlier, only spotted it through B*Cats response.

As mooted by B*Cat, TDR traces are simply gained by accessing the relevant option on the HHT's, and connecting the leads to the pair ..... no need to access 'Fast Test' to run this facility.
