I don't think that's what the OP wants to do. I read it as using the router as a wireless bridge for a machine with no wifi card.

ie :

PC->ethernet cable->old router->wireless->Sky router->internet

if that makes sense.

Makes no odds anyway as OP found an old wireless usb stick.

yeah KITZ is correct , BUT , I actually used that guide a few weeks ago JUST to see if it worked... because I never knew you could do that and my sister can use that setup to extend her connection to router (Via Homeplug Adapters) downstairs to extend her wifi down there (because her master socket is upstairs and she is getting interference)... but Im wondering if wireless bridging/repeating would be better for her, thing is we dont have compat router... she has a talk talk router and I was gunna give her my speedtouch (Wireless-G) which would go upstairs just for the ADSL2+ connection, LAN the connection downstairs via Homeplug Adapters into the Talk Talk router (Wireless-N) , thats if DHCP can be turned off on that and IP's changed. this would bring her wireless-N from upstairs cupboard, down into living room where its mostly used. she alerady has 2 BT Homeplug Adapters.

the speedtouch 585v6 is locked out by Tiscali but can be set up to work on Talk Talk - I dunno if it supports WDS..? or if her HG520 does?

anyway she aint complained for a while so no rush!!
