I don't experience a "Dawn Chorus" here at The Cattery, it is a regular "Duck Chorus" at this time of the year. In my case I can understand it, as the River Lark is my eastern boundary.

I wonder from whence have Kitz' ducks appeared?  ???

They do get around though.
As I was walking to t'pub last night with a mate of mine we remarked that there were no ducks visible around the village pond.
He said they were mostly near him (his garden backs onto fields/woods) - and he's over half a mile away on top of a hill!

Its more like the 'Cats Chorus' here in the middle of the night, squaring up to each other with the accompanying meowing.Sue helped them on their way with a glass of water from the via the bedroom window. ;D

Sometimes deafness has its moments  ;) ;D

No idea where they came from..   the boating lake has swans..  but thats about it.
I was surprised at how they werent afraid of me..  I would have thought they'd scarper as I was stood right in front of them, they didnt even seem bothered when Ziggs approached for a sniff, and just slowly waddled away down the drive.

>>> Its more like the 'Cats Chorus' here in the middle of the night,

One of the reasons why mine arent allowed out unsupervised...  theres a local tom thats a right PITA and needs neutering.
Send Sue round here with a bucket of water!
A trait of the Birman cat is they are very sociable creatures and just want to be friends... and although normally very agile, some having dog like traits, they arent the best of fighters.
Particularly Ziggy who due to his FHO (false hip) cant jump...  he'd probably just roll over and expose his belly whilst the other cat tore him to shreds :(

We now have quite a few cats living local...Next door 1 female (which the old boy who lives there only recently got her spayed. She had 2 litters prior to that.)  >:(

Next door but one have 2 cats.

At the end of the road a family moved in before Christmas and they have a large tomcat(he's quite a character and could be one of the culprits).
Across the road a  young couple are renting the house and they have 2 cats, one of them has had a litter, one died so she just buried it in the front garden,no sure about the sex of the other one.

I wish we still had Blue,he would have sorted them out (if he could have ever caught one)  :D

lol..  I bet he would have... :)

Aside from next door bar 2, none of my other immediate neighbours have cats.. they seem to come from 'over the back' some where.
I know the guy who backs on to me - he has a dog.. and says that manky B&W tom cat is a damn nuisance and drives his dog mental by teasing it just out of reach.

No worries - this is the general chat section so convo's often digress :)

Have you given a thought to actually adopting the manky-cat, Kitz?

Invite him in, give him a bath, (once he's clean) introduce him to Ziggy, provide some food and a bed. Then a trip to the vet's for a "once over" and "the necessary". Just an idea . . .  :-\

(b*cat now goes to hide.)

yeah rite.   :P

TBH though I have wondered about trapping him and passing him over to the RSPCA..  but after a brief convo with someone from the RSPCA a few months back, they arent interested in the slightest.
Ive just come to the conclusion now its not my responsibility (other than moan about it lol)- its already bust through one cat flap, and the new one has had some hammer but at least it knows now that locked means it cant get in. Its easier to restrict my cats rather than worry about one that now runs a mile when it sees me.

My major concern right now is making sure Zigs stays in good health (hard to explain unless you know about FIP and knowing that Zigs without doubt have had exposure to the corona virus which can mutate into FIP because of his close contact with Zac)..
....... and making sure this house is going to be a good environment for another kitteh at some point in the near future (again something most cat owners possibly wont understand unless they've had a cat with FIP).  :'(

Manky B+W tom can stay well away from my cat(s) and house thankyou  ;D

This is the 'manky' tom that visits us  ;D

Note the green netting to the fence behind,no good what so ever as he just jumps onto the top of the fence then on to the window sill.

But,that was then and now the netting has been extended about 18" and up to now no cat on window sill  :fingers:

But the other day I did see him leaving his house with a ladder...... :o

Perhaps if Auntie remembered to keep the bedroom curtains drawn whilst she attends to her garters, you would not have a peeping-tom on the windowsill.  :D
