Anyone run there own sites ? what do you do to protect them ?.

I have a set of 6 fixed IP's From  Eclipse  isp.BT ADSL2(G992.3) line>HG612 as a Modem, Bridge, WAN Not Bound to LAN1 or 2 + Also have FTTP (G.984) No One isp Fixed IP >Dual WAN pfSense (Hardware Firewall and routing).> Two WAN's, Ethernet LAN, DMZ LAN, Zyxel GS1100-24 Switch.

ummmmmm  who would that be?  :D :D

I have a bespoke advanced business package and therefore entrust my hosts to deal with that side of things.  Its not an area I would like to attempt to deal with myself. 
I could probably get cheaper basic hosting elsewhere but that wouldnt cut it....... in fact some webhosts wouldnt touch me and demand I go dedicated but youre talking many £ thousands.  Finding a good webhost who is prepared to be flexible for your needs is vital.
Alternatively you dump everything on your own server and be responsible for it all yourself. 
Because of the cost of dedicated hosting many large firms will have and run their own servers.. and IT staff responsible for the running of these.


Im also careful what I put up on the server, its often poorly written scripts or outdated software that lead to most breaches.
