desk top monitor playing up

pls move to the right place

my monitor every now and then it goes a shade of blue loses the red if i tap the side of the monitor it goes back to normal im thinking its on its way out ????

iv got a spare 22" lcd tv iv nor used for months  and its got pc in vga and hmdi i was thinking of connecting it to my desk top

info needed on set up

 do i have to have the monitor still connected to disktop and connect the tv using vag cable or can i just plug the tv in and hope for the best that the pc picks up the tv

Probably a dry joint, easily fixed with a soldering iron.  ;)

Surely the LCD TV will have a button on it (or on the remote) to select an input?
Just connect a VGA cable and select VGA.

If your PC only has DVI video you can get a DVI to HDMI cable, but VGA is probably easier if available.

using vga on the 22" lcd tv seems ok but going to buy an graphic card that as hmdi

It won't be any better on that size screen, so don't waste your money.  ;)
What's it's max resolution? 1280 by 1024 or less?

windows7
1024 x 768 not changed it yet

on the display high 2048x1536 lowest is 800x600

max on tv is 1920x1200 60hz

lol no idea just set it thought windows7 to 1280x1024 at 1920x1200 the writing was way 2 small lol

Anyway, try the options and see what works. DVI/HDMI won't improve things though.
