Wonderful   :)

They are all good,my own favourite is the one of the seafront at Bray.You can almost smell the sea air,a lovely stroll before lunch then a couple of pints and some nice seafood..... :yum:

In the 60s, I did a lot of walking in the Wicklows - beautiful scenery and still just as wild today.  One point though - would colour photography have been available 120 years ago, or have the pics been tinted by hand?

That's a fair question. Colour photographs using the subtractive process started in the 1860s, but the early ones required very long exposure times. So-called 'instantaneous' colour photos became possible in the early 1900s. I guess that the ones shown here were tinted by hand, as you suggest.

They are really lovely thanks for sharing those Eric.  Some of them look like paintings to me but I suppose the way they've been coloured could make them appear like that.  Good to look at and see what pre-litter days were like as in most old photographs ;) tho' perhaps they are still litter-free out there even now...
