Relative gets strange message on close down.

On close down a message like " unusual configuration" appears, so he tells me.

Has anyone any idea what could be the cause? Please! And what needs to be done?

Stating the obvious, really but the exact message needs to be seen.  ::)

Would it be possible for you to photograph the screen -- or perhaps make a short video clip -- when it is displayed?

It would have to wait until OH and I visited him and his OH. The OHs are sisters. The best I could fo meantime is ask him to do as you suggest, or if that fails get him to write down the text.
