Interesting. You've just reminded me that i have the same problem with a BT2700HGV wireless router. It used to work and then  stopped for no apparent reason.

The usual way to get into a router's configuration utility is to type its IP address into a browser. I don't know anything about the 220, but maybe http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/frogstats.htm, and select the Voyager 210, will work.

Hi eric, just found the link you posted. The nearest router to the 220v voyager is the 210v.I typed in the address http://192.168.1.1/ but It won't load in.Everything else works fine.My speed is the same as the last time I brought up my line stats which was on thursday.Could the router be faulty even though I can get on line ok?

I suppose it's possible that the router is faulty, although it's an unusual fault. It may be that the 220v uses a different web address - does it specify this in the manual?

Hi eric,It did not come with a manual, just an up and running booklet from BT.It tells you either double click on the router manager icon on the desk top or in the address bar type http://voyager220v.home.I tried both and they won't load.Because I can,t access the router stats will that cause me to have any other problems.I am thinking on the lines of,I don,t want to call BT support unless absolutley neccessary. My connection is steady at the moment.

I'm pretty sure that the default IP address for the 220v is also http://192.168.1.1

Can you still ping the router on 192.168.1.1 ok to check?

If you can ping it ok but just cant get to the web interface  it could just be a bit "confuddled".  Ive had this happen on my Voyager(2100) a couple of times in the 2+years Ive had it.
Rebooting the router normally seems to do the trick.

Since it otherwise seems to be working ok and in view of your concerns over the speed drop then it should be ok to leave it, but it just means that you wont be able to view any router/line info.

If you contact BT support the first thing theyd likely tell you to do is reboot the router.

Hi Kitz, followed your link to 'ping' page.Did the ping test in the command prompt box.I typed ping 192.168.1.1 and the statistics said.Packets sent 4 packets received 4 Lost 0 (0%Loss)
Approximate round trip in milli-seconds

Minimum 0ms
Max 1ms
Average 0ms

Don't know what it means though.Did abbmax speed test 1452 down/381 up.No problems logging on or using the web.Like you say BT tech support will tell me to re boot.

Just to add to this Kitz, when I tried to do a speedtest via speedtester.bt.com I got a test error message as follows.

The IP address discovered on the network associated with your telephone number, did not match the one we have logged from this browser/connection.Please check your telephone number and try again.
Hope this info is of some use.

The test means that your router address would indeed appear to be 192.168.1.1 and its responding ok.

So basically the router itself is fine.. and traffic on your network between your pc and router is ok.
Looks like its just the web interface thingy has got confuddled some where, which should be fixable by a reboot.

The only thing I can suggest is to read http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/lowSNR.htm and see if any of the advice there improves your connection.

>> 15.1 down/ 12.0 up

Looks like your target SNR profile is set at just about the maximum.
To get an increase in speed you will have to reboot your router when the SNR Margin is at its highest.
Failing that then its a case of using something like the DMT tool to lower it, or asking your ISP to lower it.
