Zac says good morning.  Hes sat upright on my knee looking at the screen looking all your good wishes as I type.  ^-^
(and Ziggy is on top of the PC tower!)

He just had one really bad wobbly incident last night after he tried to navigate the stairs, but hes very alert this morning and has just nommed all his breckie down after wrapping himself round my legs whilst I opened the can and walked across the kitchen to his food bowl without falling down ;D

Like you guys, it is looking like concussion, though how he did it Ive  no idea..
Im certainly not going to be testing the smoke alarm just yet.

That's really good news. :)

In future I would certainly make sure that there are no cats nearby when you test that alarm. :'(

I'm very pleased Zac is on the mend. I don't know how to write in cat language, so you will have to translate Kitz.

As it has been mentioned don't touch the alarm whilst Zac is in the room until you have shown him how to use the cat flap in such events.

A purrfect ending you might say.

I was hanging on for this news Kitz...hoping every day things would be getting better for Zac so I'm really pleased he is recovering with each day.  Poor soul, as the others have said, certainly looks like concussion but boy he must have really whacked himself.  Anyway, here's hoping he's truly back to normal within a few days and typing his replies to us all on here  :D

(((gentle hug for Zac)))

I take it you disabled the new alarm?

I would be tempted to take it out in the street where there would be a lot of cats and set it off just to see if it affected other cats, could this be a issue to report to the manufacture?

Maybe it is emiting a sound we can't hear.

Zac is looooooads better today.
I can hardly believe that he was so poorly just a few days ago and when I had to leave him at the vets I was fearing the worst.
I am so relieved and its now about 36 hours since he had his last fit.

He's now walking around normally, still a wee bit unsteady if he jumps up on the desk or goes down the stairs, but to look at him now you wouldnt really know that there was anything wrong :)

----
Ive not disabled the alarm, but Im not going to test it just yet.   Where its located, it shouldnt really go off again now unless there is a fire.

>>> Maybe it is emiting a sound we can't hear.

It scared the bejezus out of me when the guy installed it...  nvm the cats... and Im so not surprised that Ziggy went flying out of the cat flap and Zac sought sanctuary when he was fitting and testing it.   Both cats were in the lounge up until that point. Its very loud and high pitched.  I did try a quick google but didnt bring anything up
