Thanks again.
He had another fit about an hour or so ago, again this one only lasted a couple of mins..  and at least it wasnt nearly 2 hours which was how long the 1st one must have lasted.

He is still very unsteady and fell over in the litter tray which was fun 'cause I didnt want to get the hoover out (scary noise) to clean up spilt litter, so temp job done with dustpan and brush.  ???

Aside from the drunken behaviour when walking, just right now he seems okayish.  Its certainly not impaired his appetite.  Hes normally the fussiest eater ever, but hes wolfing down his food at this very minute which is why Ive snuck off to the PC  ;D

Sounds very much like he has had a quite knock to the head.
Either he fell, or something fell on him. I would expect concussion to have cleared up by now.
Though cats are not like us humans. If he is eating then that is a good sign.

 :fingers: Hoping he recovers soon.

b*cat nods in agreement.

Hopefully after a night's sleep, then litter tray usage, a drink and something to eat, he will be back to his normal self.

>> Sounds very much like he has had a quite knock to the head.

Hell of a knock because it really has done some sort of damage,
Im not happy that hes still having fits.. nor can he walk properly without falling over.
This has got to be about the most expensive smoke alarm ever!  and despite saying he ate well earlier I am still very worried about him.

>> or something fell on him.

Nothing to fall on him nor any sign of anything knocked off any of the units.
The gap between the ceiling and top of units is less than I said earlier..  its more like only 6".  To get up there he normally jumps from floor -> work top -> top of fridge -> top of cupboards and crawls along the top of them till hes over the top of the one that houses the boiler.  I guess its nice and warm there and its somewhere that Ziggy cant go cause even though they get on well, Ziggy is sometimes in playful kitteh mode so its a retreat where Ziggy cant jump up... and also his hiding space if hes frightened by anything.

Hmmmmmm  just this min had a thought though...  the corner where he was first found by me and the fireman when he was having the seizure.. the corner unit doesnt go right to the corner and i think theres a gap there of about 4" before the wall.. wonder if in his haste hes slipped or lost his footing at that point and gone down or tripped or something.  Thats all I can think of.

Either that or it is epilepsy, which I hope it isnt, but the fact he is still having fits isnt looking too good. :/

The latter is a direct result of the former -- it doesn't matter whether the patient is feline or human.

I known I shall now not sleep very well tonight and I assume it will be worse for you . . .  :'(

Sue's just reminded me about an incident where one of our kittens got his head caught in a slamming door (wind caught it).  He was out for the count for 3 days and took another few weeks to come back to "normal".  During those weeks he had a couple of fits, but thankfully none since - 14 years so far.

Nature takes its time healing - he should come through I guess.

I wish that were true for us humans. Once we have epilepsy we are stuck with it.
I know, controlled with drugs for the rest of my days.

I hope that Zac does come through ok.

Sorry not had chance to update earlier on this, but Ive been dashing around today doing the stuff I had to drop/rearrange because of Zac yesterday.

Anyhow, he is doing better today.  He did have another fit last night, but -touch wood- none since.  Saying that I havent been in all the time to be able to watch him... but he is a bit steadier on his feet today too... and navigating himself slowly around the house all-be-it a bit wobbly but generally hes coping well and no more accidents falling over in the litter tray :)

He seems to be sleeping lots and has taken to sleeping somewhere exactly as he did when a kitten which is quite funny when Ziggy tried to get in there too as really there just isnt room for both of them.

I'm glad to see that Zac is making a little progress.. :)

It would appear that the problem is concussion rather than epilepsy in which rest and relaxation and plenty of sleep is the order of the day.
The important thing is to let him his own thing......if he wants to sleep or if he wants to ignore you and be by himself in a quiet corner, let him. That's the way cats are.

Hope he keeps improving.. :fingers:

Kimi and Sam called round to see him (ok and me too because she needed to drop something off), but this is Zac tonight.
His eyes are much clearer now and not flickering about.. and hes walking about half a dozen steps at a time before he lies down.
Hes still very unsteady and wobbly but still very cuddly and affectionate... so lapping up the attention from kim.

Quick snap with camera phone so not best of quality.
Zac.

...  and not to be outdone - Ziggy getting some fuss from Sam

Thank you for that positive update. I hope Zac continues to improve.

Like TD, I am convinced his condition is a result of severe concussion.

It would certainly appear to be as suggested. Thank you for the positive update.
We are all routing for Zac. May his recovery continue.

Oh goodness Kitz, I've been off line for 36 hours and missed all this.  I do hope that Zac is getting better every minute.  It sounds like he's had a heck of a shock, but it appears from what you say he's coming out of it  slowly.   What a nasty shock for you too.  Give him a huge hug from me, and  for you too.  Take care  :)
