Gentlefolk,
There are a significant number of changes with the latest BT Speedtester software as we first noticed yesterday.
I am about to document what I observe but amongst other things it now requires to run an Applet and one such item is called tickerapplet2.
Although it says you have to wait an hour, the error that produces now says wait 10 minutes EDIT 2, which has been proven now & that you only waste 10 minutes of your time.
The IP address of the BT service is now no longer shown.
I too observe the additional items, but that produces an error.
EDIT But it worked on the second attempt.
EDIT 2 Below is a PDF of the BT FAQs hardly written for the novice though. BT still tell you what is acceptable from their viewpoint.
It is a little presumptuous to use fine in this context, particularly if you are on a horrible BT line.
Acceptable range of speeds is 288-500 Kbps. If your download speed lies in this range, then there is no fault on your line and your Broadband service is deemed to be
working fine.
Kind regards,
Walter
