Unexpected Improvement
« on: November 06, 2007, 07:53:44 PM »

I have noticed a strange thing today... ever since we were Maxed our line rate with the Home Hub was 1.6meg stewadily declining due to line conditions to around 1.2 meg and then 1.4meg.

Logged onto the HH today and the line rate is present 3.2meg downstream with a 5dB margin?

I can only wonder if there has been some major work on cable replacement or other maintenance work which has suddenly improved line conditions. Mind you we're not really so far from the exchange but all in all a rather unexpected surprise.

You were very lucky your line SNR target didn't get raised due to the problems! Nice one :)
