Openreach have recently announced that they are proposing (for a charge to ISPs) to provide more detailed "value add DSL data" i.e. FTTC connection stats to ISPs.
Link to the relevant Openreach document:-
Openreach FTTC StatsIt seems a bit cheeky to charge for it when the data
could/should have been available via the supplied modems & also available to ISPs in the first place.
I wonder if all ISPs will adopt this proposal?
It also begs the question: How on earth could ISPs satisfactorily & commercially provide FTTC services in the absence of such basic performance data?
I know for a fact that my ISP (Plusnet) has not had access to such data. I have ended up having to provide some of it for them.
I wonder if I should now submit my retrospective invoice to them for
customer provided services?
