Hi c6em,

Unless you have something very special I very much doubt the cable is armoured.

If it is, just watch out in case it is a steel tape armour which is almost certainly a 414 V three phase power cable, usually a minimum of around 25 mm diameter (or larger). A single phase house service is around 20 mm.

If it is steel wire armour around 30 mm dia. then you've probably found the 11 kV high voltage cable !
