Trench dug to depth of 6", hose in trench, trench filled in and turf relaid...

Looking at one of my flowering cherry trees, I am afeared that when it is in full leaf it may impede the signal, so Big Jock is coming with his chain saw and we will lop off a couple of limbs here and there. That's ok...I wanted these trees pruned back anyway....wrong time of year to do it, but needs must.

All that remains now is the hardest job of all...........finding a programme worth watching.. :D

Two nights ago, in the early hours, I woke myself up with my shouting and screaming......tossing and turning so much that the bedclothes were on the floor, except the undersheet which was hanging onto my foot by the hole that I had kicked through it.. :(
The reason for this ?
TD had dreamt that in the night someone had built a tower block right in front of his dish....

A bit late as usual, but might come in handy for 'Cable protection MK2'

1. Lay the hose pipe along the ground obviously without any kinks in it.
2. Secure either some strong knitting wool or light string on to one end of your satellite cable. (Draw string)
3. Measure draw string along the hose so you know when it will be all the way in the hose.
4. Place other end of Draw string inside hose pipe.
5. Place VACUUM CLEANER suction hose around other end of hose pipe and turn on vacuum cleaner.
6. Don't allow the draw string to go to far inside the vacuum pipe or it may cause problems, hence measuring it to start with.

This should then suck the measured amount of draw string through the hose, then you can gently pull your cable through as much as you want.
Obviously you need to attach the 2 together as neat and small as possible.

This way the inner cable is not constantly lying in water as it will if you use a cut hose method.

An intriguing idea, OF,........but I can imagine my neighbours faces if they spotted me apparently hoovering the lawn.. :D

Surely the power of the vacuum would be expended on sucking through air and not the string  ?
