Solid ice all over the car and -4C here this morning. The local gritter has yet again blasted the paintwork on our cars rather than put the salt on the road where it is wanted  :-X

 :sun: :sun: :flamer:
24o in the conservatory again.
I set my stall out to do some coding and promptly dosed off.
Of course the sun has now gone behind some clouds and the temperature has dropped.

Yes Adrian looks like Harry was too near the mark... :o.  Those poor people in Europe with what they are going through (also the poor animals who are dying especially the birds  :( )  all we can hope is that we don't get as bad here... or too much of it if/when we do get the snow.

It's not too cold here this morning which makes me think after the rest of the week where it's been really cold, that snow might be on the way   but am hoping not of course.  Hope everyone keeps warm (Colin2 looks like the conservatory is your best bet  :D) and keeps safe whatever the weather throws at us.

Good morning everybody, -6 here as well. As my mother used to say it's too cold to snow.
I also feel for the poor souls that are dying from the cold weather. But you know mother nature has her way of natural selection.
Sorry if that sounds callous, it's not meant to be, just an observation.
The conservatory will have to wait this morning until the sun gets shining on it. It's not cold in there but not warm enough to sit in.
At least there is no wind about, and has not been for a couple of days now.
Nice one for Harry and his Almanac, my mother always swore by that. I think Paul should take more notice of it.

Stay warm and safe every-one.

SHEFFIELD has been warned to ‘batten down the hatches’ with heavy snow predicted to hit the city in the biggest freeze of the winter so far.

Forecasters say around 5cm of persistent snow will fall across the city tomorrow - and Sheffield Council is geared up in preparation.

A fleet of gritters has been salting the streets for days as temperatures plummet - reaching as low as -6C last night - and are ready to work throughout Saturday.

And there is 18,000 tonnes of grit in stock - enough for around 36 days - with around 100 snow wardens on standby to clear pathways and roads

5cm ............. :-X  ;D

Well with all the hoo haa about how cold and frosty it was going to be last night I covered the car windscreen (with one of my best curtains) because I go out early to do the shopping on a Saturday. Although it was cold not a bit of frost to be seen anywhere, not until I sat in the motor and frosted up the inside of the screen. ???
I've got me sledge out waiting for this blizzard that is coming our way. What was it, 5cms or something. You watch, they will have the day wrong. Keep the snow shovel for another day Phil.

Stay warm and enjoy your day everyone.
