I see all support for Windows Vista ends on the 10th April 2012

Microsoft came back and confirmed that security bulletins will cease unless you have an extended support contract after April

So yes free mainstream support ends in 2012, but commercial customers get another 5 years to April 2017.

Not quite, unkyUb.

Support for my XP SP3 ended last year....but I can still get "High Priority Updates" for it.......ie, important security patches...up till 08/04/2014

I think Vista user will get the same until 11/04/2017

Indeed, my XP systems get plenty of regular security fixes.  8)
(just installing 12 right now on one infrequent-use system)
