Unable to unlock Huawei HG612 Modem

I can not figure this one out im trying to unlock my HG612 and no matter what i do im not able to browse to 192.168.1.1 am i missing some magical step that's not in the instructions ?

forget it turn out i have a ECI modem

That's a shame. If you want a spare modem, the Huawei does crop up for sale on 'a famous online auction site'.

Don't suppose you want to open up the ECI and photograph its PCB?!

No one has yet publicly identified the CPU that drives the device.  Maybe the board has some obvious place to attach a JTAG or serial cable?
