Posting Combofix logs in Malwarebytes
« on: January 06, 2012, 09:35:52 PM »

PITB! Does anyone else find the same? My log is ~20 pages in Word at 8pt with  as many line spaces closed up as possible. Too long for a single post to them, but of course there's no clue how long a post can be!

Grr!

Make a normal length post on Malwarebytes forum to the effect..."please look ay my Combofix log " ........and then simply attach your Word document.

Thanks! :) TBH they are rather autocratic (posh way of saying "up own......." ).
Topics are closed after 3 days no response but according to rules can be ulocked by OP request. Make that request and it gets refused ::) ::) ::)

For analysis of a combofix log, may I recommend that you go to bleeping computer at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/

Go down to the Security board, and then into the fourth sub-heading "Virus, trojan, software and malware removal logs" and post there....at least there the post will remain active until resolved, and with a bit of luck a combofix specialist ( member "quietman") will attend to your log.

I concur with TD's suggestion - bleepingcomputer forum is the place to post your log - remember to obliterate any IP addresses that may appear in the log first.  There is also a very good tutorial on how to use combofix on their site at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

They helped me about 8 weeks back when I had a terrible trojan infection.  Good guys who take their time to slowly walk you through a solution.  Took 3 days of back and forth steps before I had it sorted.  Alternative was to do a clean install - 10 hours work!
