Is there anything I can do to reduce these errors? I am getting drop-outs as well and this never used to happen either.

I'm afraid that there's no short cut to investigating a problem like this, unless there's some obvious recent change. Christmas tree lights and other electrical decorations are a fairly common cause of such problems, but if you can eliminate that, then there are many possibilities. One quick thing to do is to check for any crackling or hissing on the phone, and if that's the case then you need to report it as a voice fault to the company you pay your line rental to.

If the above things are eliminated, then  have a look at the Trouble shooting guide.

Well, I stuck my SpeedTouch 585v6 on and it is doing much better. There has been 1 CRC, 1 HEC and 1 errored second after being connected for 12 minutes and 50 seconds.

short-term bursts like that, especially at this time of year, are unfortunately common :( the only thing you can do is monitor over a longer period....
