I think Mozilla have got it wrong. All these new versions of Firefox leave me cold. I'm still using version 3 which is still supported by Mozilla - I had an update to 3.6.25 in the last day or two. What is the objective and benefits of all the latest versions? The advantages of sticking with an old version are 1. you know how it works without having to refamiliarise yourself and 2. all your addons work without any hassle. If I'm going to try an improved browser I would jump ship entirely to say Opera, which I have tried and been quite impressed, particularly by the speed.

I won't run Mozilla products at all anymore, I use Opera almost exclusively and IE9 is my second browser.

I hope this one is a bit quicker to complete than Wagner's Ring Cycle. :'(

As Opera browser can be a bit geekie and in need of some tweaking, I fear that this is but the overture.... :D

You're changing browsers faster than shopping for new shoes

Just in case you get bored over Christmas.  ;D

I thought this might be interesting with reference to Babylon, it has just come up on the avast! forums.

Babylon search toolbar virus

http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=90622.0

How to remove

http://www.ehow.com/how_5104258_remove-babylon-toolbar.html

CNet are now "wrapping" applications in their own downloader and including various toolbars with the payload. Many people will no longer visit Cnet/Download.com , I now have it barred as a bad host so it cannot be accessed here.

Thanks for the info. AdrianH........somehow I'm not really surprised as CNet have always had a bit of an iffy reputation.

If I want good, clean downloads of freebies, I stick with Filehippo.  :)

One of the claimed advantages of FF 9.x is the speed, which Mozilla say brings it up to the same speed as Chrome.

I can't say that I've noticed any performance improvement.

Has anyone else seen improvements?
