Babylon search engine is an insidious pest......some describe it as malware.

It can be very difficult to remove, but as a first step try the following (with thanks to tetonbob at TechSupport Forum)

Each browser's 'Search Provider' will need to be purged of Babylon.

Firefox >Click the search engine dropdown on the upper right, select 'Manage Search Engines...' from the list.

 Remove anything Babylon related.

For Chrome, click the wrench icon, select 'Tools' > 'Extensions'

 Remove anything Babylon related.

Also, Tools > Options > Manage Search Engines > remove anything Babylon related.

Babylon is a PITA, Revo Uninstaller may help but it does have to be rooted out of the browser settings too.  If you know when it landed on your system you can System Restore to that point and then clear away all old restore points and start again.

Thank you for all the help  :)     I've done what was suggested, plus I used my 'Your Uninstaller' and it has all gone.  On 'Your Uninstaller' it showed Babylon as part of Internet Explorer which I haven't used for a very long time; but I'm wondering if it may have been 'deposited' by any of the MS Updates  ?    I certainly haven't downloaded it ... Malwarebytes hasn't thrown anything up   ....   very strange, but at least it has gone.   Thank you again.

Maybe Babylon is a "suggestive" search engine especially prepared for those who need to know where to shop and lunch Kate?

This is nothing whatever to do with Microsoft or their updates Kate, it is something you have encountered along the way.

Colin    ;D    I don't need a search engine for shopping and lunching  -  I could even start my own

Adrian  Thank you,  I wonder where I've found that ..... I don't think I've 'been' anywhere out of the ordinary  :shrug2:   .....  hey ho   -  it's gone anyway  :)
