Speedtouch 780WL & DMT Tool

Good morning

 I have been reading a topic on this forum from a long time ago regarding which firmware is compatible with DMT Tool on the Speedtouch 780WL.

 As a user of some years now of this router, living on a very long line, I need to use DMT tool to get a decent sync speed. My current Speedtouch 780WL has been using firmware 6.1.7.2 since new, and allows for SNR tweak with DMT.

 I have been offered a new Speedtouch 780WL which has firmware 6.1.9.6 loaded... will this still allow for the SNR tweak?

 Reading this site it stated that 6.1.4.3 was the latest, but my current one has a newer version (I think already)... Am I correct in saying it was firmware 6.2.x.x.that they removed the facility? if so... 6.1.9.6 is earlier...

Anyone offer any advice?

I think you'll need a speedtouch gee..sorry, expert for this one. If you can try the new one that'd probably be your best bet to be certain :)

last day or two I was reading on the thinkbroadband forum that someone recons the 780WL will tweak, so there is hope :)
