BIOS messages, silly question most likely , are they also recorded in event viewer? If not, do I access them by booting in DOS (F2 key)

BIOS messages are displayed on the screen when you initially power on the computer, before windows gets started.   If the computer detects any kind of fault, it would normally display a message on the screen.

Not to my knowledge, though it may depend on the individual BIOS and somebody else may know better.
