ADSL Cable

(1/1)

jaydog:
Hi all,

I need a new ADSL cable. I was using a Belkin but one of the ends became damaged.

I need one that's of high quality and basically the best. Need one that's shielded as it's next to av cables too.

Could someone send me some links or models please? Don't want to pay through the roof for one. Thanks.

Hi jaydog,

I have  a 20m length of one of very similar spec to the one mentioned in this thread at home, that I used for ADSL & now FTTC:-

From that link you could probably locate shorter lengths.

I also got mine from Maplin.

There are 2 schools of thought regarding shielded cables, especially the earthing (or not) of the shielding itself.

There is another link to a discussion on shielding within the thread mentioned above.

Maybe you could be a bit more specific..?

If you can post your router stats, as well as the required length of the cable and any other considerations, we might be able to advise whether there's much you could do to improve things.   The answer doesn't necessarily lie in a specialised cable.
