Title: Updated - CAPS page
Post by: kitz on October 15, 2007, 01:10:16 AM
As part of the ongoing much larger project.  Ive totally updated and revamped the ISP caps and FUP (http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/caps.htm) page.

Ive removed the ISP prices (http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/isp_price_list.php), which has gone to another page and just concentrated on how the ISP is dealing with things like FUPs and traffic shaping and how their network is performing with some of the protocols.
This has taken quite a while to complete and research has come from various sources including my own observations on some ISPs if Ive been helping someone.

Obviously its never going to be entirely accurate as certain products with the ISP will perform better than others, but it is a general overview of how the ISP performs to what its advertising.  AFAIK theres not anything out there that shows this sort of information at a glance and from one source.
Too many ISPs are using the words unlimited - which is practically meaningless when they are throttling the hell out of their users. :(

Excellent. Only one small point - there doesn't seem to be a key to what the red, green and yellow blobs mean; I know it's pretty obvious, but it might be worth spelling it out.

I see that yarwell has posted a link to this page on TBB. He describes it as a 'commendable effort'.

One thing I've just noticed - in the Key at the bottom, the Contended paragraph is duplicated.
