The finished version of FireFox 5 is now available
http://www.filehippo.com/download_firefox/
Hasn't been rolled out yet via >help>about Firefox>check for updates.
-
It might be worth waiting a bit if you use addons. I imagine that it will take some time before they are updated.

Good idea Eric,I remember when updating from 3.16.5 to version 4 there was a good few add-ons that hadn't been updated.
-
I checked out the addons which I use, and they're all compatible with FF5, so I've upgraded (the Linux version of course) and all seems to be well.

I always wait until its offered via my browser updates..not yet available.....no rush :)

Oooooooooooooo I'm dying to have a go with it ..... but I think I'll follow your lead Phil and hang on ................ ( hubby does sometime call me 'Nelly-can't-wait' :o )

I think the update is more 'behind the scenes' rather than cosmetic, but as I don't have it yet I can't be certain. :)
-
I can't see any difference, but the changelog on the Mozilla site is enormous. Most of it seems to be bugfixes, but there are a few new features.
-
The update is available now for me..but 2 of my updates........Google toolbar and McAfee site advisor aren't compatible so I shall hold off for the time being

According to this article it seems Mozilla wants you to move up to FF5 asap as security support is being withdrawn from FF4

(I think you meant "move up to FF5" :) )
FF4 didn't last long, did it? Mozilla seem to have gone slightly mental.

I've done it now .... I've lost a couple of add-ons, until they update, but I can survive without them ................ for a while ;D Thanks Unc !

I have installed the add on compatibility reporter and after updating to FF5 my Google toolbar works, even though it reports it as in compatible
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/?src=api
The only one which doesn't work for me is McAfee Site Advisor.According to the McAfee forums it is being totally re written so when future version of FF are released site advisor will be compatible.
