Title: Zen have a new Broadband Status page

And it looks quite good for exchange issues.

Hi all,

I just thought I'd let you all know we've revamped our Broadband Supplier Fault/Maintenance page (so outage and maintenance from BT) page.

The new page can be found here:

Broadband Supplier Fault and Maintenance Alerts

This now includes data supplied to us from BT for both 20CN and 21CN (the previous version only showed 20CN).  It's also a lot cleaner and provides more information - though sometimes that may be on the 'techy' side, as it's exactly what we're provided with.  Never-the-less it should give a good overview of identified faults and upcoming maintenance. :)

regards,
Phil.

The page also gives you an idea of the significant amount of upgrade works going on in some areas.
As there is a lot of 21CN upgrade work in our area, I have just entered 01483 and see there are 18 planned maintenance activities from 16 to 19 May 2011.

Kind regards,
Walter

Yes, it's the best information of this kind that I've seen. You only have to enter your dialling code in the search box, and immediately you see all the current issues and planned maintenance relating to your exchange. Very handy.

A very informative site. Thanks for the link BritBrat. It could do with some way of making it permanent so it doesn't get lost in the mists of time.

Especially if you click on the description link E.g.

Start:   18/05/2011 00:01
Cleared:   18/05/2011 06:00
Duration:   5 Hours 59 Minutes
Message:   The Planned Engineering Work is required on the Broadband Nodes within the (GUILDFORD 21CN METRO AREA) region that support EU's nationwide for completion of (Upgrade from JUNOS 7.3 to Junos 10.2, to support physical change out of ATM Line Cards and config changes programme 1 ) will be (One) service outage to End-Users of approximately (120) minutes (for each outage or total) within this period. This outage will occur during the outage window of (00:01-06:00) within this PEW Window. A list of your end users affected will be available on Broadband Customer Reporting (BBCR). Please note it may take up to 1 hour for Emergency PEWS( less than 14 days) and a maximum of 48 hours for standard PEWs ( more than 14 days ) for the affected circuits to appear on BBCR.
Area Codes:   01189 01233 01252 01256 01293 01304 01344 01403 01420 01428 01483 01489 01491 01706 01737 01753 01795 01932 01983 02380

I expect it's wishful thinking but our metro area covers around 10 different exchanges so it's not possible to see which actual exchange is affected by each of the activities as clearly each will only have the operation upon one occasion.

Kind reagrds,
Walter

I will agree with SS44. Could this please be made a "sticky topic", TD?

Maybe Kitz could make her own and retrieve the same data.

Maybe Kitz could make her own and retrieve the same data.

As far as I know, the information isn't directly available other than via ISPs.

You should be able to Poll the data from our site. It does have RSS Feeds on there.
