Title: Phishing e-mails
Post by: oldfogy on July 20, 2006, 01:18:49 PM
Well it looks like I'm in great demand by some one called "Sally Anne"
who has just returned from the USA and wants to re-kindle some sort of relationship (I should be so lucky).

Needles to say it is just a ploy to get me to answer and confirm my address, probably so as to receive more spam.
The e-mail sound sort of genuine enough to make some people reply, (see below)

Hi Philip,
Maybe you did not reply because of the weather over
here ?

Sorry to email again but I'm trying to sort out my
datefolder now I am back in the UK.Its a mess.
I Sent you an email from my Yahoo datefolder but got
no reply ?

Are you fixed up now ?

Anyway, as I said, just back into the UK from the USA
and found your email address in my (UK) Yahoo date
folder - must be a bit old ?

Please reply to my UK yahoo address direct - not
to my datefolder - maybe that was the mistake.
Maybe  - later ?.

If still OK on a meet please let me know and I'll send
you my pic and details.

xx

Sally Anne

Do you think I should send her a picture of myself (my avatar that is)?

Sounds like a nice girl :) Still, it's a bit of an improvement on the never-ending stream of offers to enlarge and strengthen my personal body parts.

Also very versatile and persistent, I keep blocking here in Outlook Express, but she still keeps coming. :D

No, on reflection I'm not going to say anything at all. This is a family show. :)
